About me and my work
About me
I gained my first degree in Psychology with the Open University, after which I trained with the National Marriage Guidance Council (now called Relate) as a counsellor. I qualified as a Clinical Psychologist, gaining a Masters Degree, and worked in the NHS for some years, before going into private practice in 1993. I am also a qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist, Emotional FreedomTechnique (EFT) practitioner and Family Mediator and have trained in and work with various methods of psychological therapy. My approach is client-centred and my intention is always to work in the best and most appropriate way for each unique individual. I draw on a range of techniques including: hypnotherapy, neuro linguistic programming (NLP), EFT, long and short-term psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioural therapy, brief solution-focussed therapy, systemic family therapy, problem solving and lifestyle enhancing techniques. I also work holistically, and refer to other relevant experts when appropriate.
